  • A nyloc hexagon nut (type T) is a fastener that incorporates a nylon component to effectively lock the nut into position on the bolt.
  • The nylon component has a smaller inside diameter than the actual nut.
  • This locks the nut in place by squeezing the nylon firmly around the bolt when tightened.
  • Unlike a standard locking washer, the nyloc nut prevents the nut from loosening under vibration as the nylon is tightly wedged into the bolt threads and provides resistance to turning when tightened.
  • The nuts are zinc-plated for increased resistance to corrosion.
  • Their hexagonal shape is designed to be driven by a wrench (spanner) and provides excellent torque when done so.


APPLICATION:
Where a permanent fastening is required and loosening must be prevented by movement or vibration.
Can be used on most bolt products including HT Bolts, Carriage Bolts, Threaded Rod etc.

Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finish. It does this by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide is a fine white dust that (in contrast to iron oxide) does not trigger a breakdown of the substrates surface integrity as it is formed. The zinc oxide, if left intact, can act as a barrier to further oxidation, in a way similar to the protection afforded to aluminum and stainless steels by their oxide layers.

Our stock levels may include stock at other locations, or that are held with suppliers.  Items showing in stock are not necessarily available for next day dalivery, although all Fixings Megastore branded products should have next day availability. Items with lead times should be shown clearly, although like all retailers, we can suffer stock issues sometimes. Any issues will be communicated to you as soon as possible.
England & Wales
  • Delivery is £6.00 on orders under £100.00 (£120.00 incl. vat), and free on orders over.  We quote 1-3 working days for delivery, but most items are delivered within two. Next working day is available depending upon stock, along with timed deliveries.  If this option is available, it will show during checkout, or by estimating delivery in the shopping cart.


Southern Scotland

  • Delivery is £8.40 on orders under £100.00 (£120.00 incl. vat), and free on orders over.  We quote 1-3 working days for delivery, but most items are delivered within two.  Next working day may be available depending upon stock, along with timed deliveries.  If this option is available, it will show during checkout, or by estimating delivery within the shopping cart.

Scottish Offshore Islands / Northern Ireland

  • 2-4 working day service is dependent on postal code and item ordered.  To check this price we recommend using the links in the shopping cart once all items have been added. Alternatively, the delivery charge will also be calculated during the checkout phase once your postcode has been entered.

Postcodes may include BT, HS1-9, IV41-51, IV55-56, KA27-28, KW15-17, PA20, PA41-49, PA60-78, PH42-44, ZE1-3. 


Isle Of Wight 

  • 2-4 working day service is £19.02 on all orders.  You may prefer to call us if looking for delivery to this location, as we can offer cheaper delivery costs through a number of other couriers that we have access to.


Isle Of Man 

  • Delivery to the Isle of Man is only available via telephone or email quotation due to delivery charges being based on total weight.  Please feel free to call or email us and we will provide a quotation for you.  We have access to a number of couriers, but have no set standard charge.


Channel Islands 

  • Delivery to the Channel Islands is currently unavailable.


Republic Of Ireland & EU

  • Delivery to Ireland and other EU countries is available and pricing will be dependent on the items in the shopping cart. The price for these can be viewed by going to the basket / checkout and selecting your country from the countries list.

Please note that VAT will be charged at checkout. Once paid, if you can provide us with a valid VAT number, we will remove and refund the VAT element. For businesses, we also require your EORI number in order to dispatch goods, Please add this in the notes section during checkout.


Our couriers can never protect against things such as weather conditions hampering deliveries or traffic problems affecting timed deliveries. But as our couriers do experience these challenges every day we feel very confident that in almost all cases, your delivery will be with you by the time specified.  Over the winter months, there are always issues where there is snowfall.  

As with most businesses, we also have cut-off times for these deliveries to be dispatched. Our cut off time for the completion of the order is 15.00 (13.30 on Fridays). All orders placed over the weekend will be processed as if they were placed on Monday.  We also do not include any weekends, bank holidays or public holidays in our delivery schedule.
